The Problem

WooCommerce variable products can generate hundreds or thousands of combinations. Setting a unique price, weight, dimension, SKU or stock for each variation manually is slow, error-prone, and expensive.

The Solution

With WooCalc you define:

1. A base (main) value for the product
2. Modifiers per attribute term — global attributes and/or custom (local) product attributes

Then click Save & calculate — WooCalc writes the final values to all variations.

Formula:

Final value = Base value + Attribute modifiers

Example:

Base price 100 + Size Large (+20) + Material Gold (+50) = 170

How It Works

1. Add global and/or custom attributes to a variable product, then generate variations
2. Save / Update the product and reload the edit screen so WooCalc can list the attributes
3. Open Product data → WooCalc tab
4. Set main base values and attribute modifiers (global terms and/or per-product custom overrides)
5. Optionally set a SKU template under Calculation settings
6. Click Preview sample or Export dry-run CSV, then Save & calculate
7. Done — variations are updated automatically

Requirements

• WordPress 6.0 or higher (tested up to 7.0)
• WooCommerce 8.0 or higher (tested up to 10.9)

Tip: After adding or changing attributes (especially custom ones), click Update / Save draft, then reload the product page so WooCalc can load the new attribute list.

FAQ

Does WooCalc require WooCommerce?
Yes. WooCommerce must be installed and active.

Do custom (local) attributes work?
Yes. Custom attributes are fully supported with per-product modifiers on the WooCalc tab. Global attributes can also use site-wide term modifiers.

I added a custom attribute but it does not show in WooCalc
WooCalc loads attributes when the product edit page opens. After adding or changing attributes, click Update / Save draft, then reload the product page.

Will it overwrite my variation prices?
Yes — calculation writes values to variations. Use Preview or Export dry-run CSV first, and you can Undo the last calculation if needed.

Can I use percent-based pricing?
Yes. Enter modifiers like 10% or -5%.

Can I build SKUs automatically?
Yes. Use the Smart SKU builder template (for example {parent}-{attr_slug:pa_color}-{attr_slug:pa_size}) with optional separator, case, and max length.

Can I recalculate many products at once?
Yes. Use Products bulk action Recalculate with WooCalc, or queue background jobs.

Is HPOS supported?
Yes. WooCalc declares High-Performance Order Storage compatibility.
