UserPro Lite

One size does not fit all. UserPro Lite is the lighter version of UserPro: front-end registration, login, password reset, profile editing and a searchable member directory, without the weight of the full plugin.

Everything runs from one shortcode, so you drop it on a page and you have a members area:

Maintained and actively updated

UserPro is now owned and maintained by Marketing the Change, a WordPress and digital marketing agency in Liverpool, UK. We took the plugin on, audited it line by line, and version 1.4.0 is a substantial security and PHP 8 compatibility release. If you are running an older copy, please update.

What is new in 1.4.0

• Runs correctly on PHP 8.0 through 8.4. Earlier builds broke the admin screens and failed on any form validation error
• Purchase code activation works again. Envato retired the API the old version called, so activation could not succeed for anyone
• A long list of security fixes, including the registration and profile forms, the admin screens, file uploads and social login
• Facebook login now verifies the login with Facebook properly, which needs a Facebook App Secret in the settings
• Passwords are enforced on the server, not only in the browser
• Pages stay cacheable, because the plugin no longer starts a PHP session on every request
• LinkedIn and Instagram login have been removed, because both providers shut down the APIs they used. The LinkedIn and Instagram profile fields are unaffected

Profiles and fields

• Unlimited custom profile fields: text, textarea, dropdown, radio, checkboxes, multiselect, password, picture and file upload
• Choose per field whether it is required at registration, editable by the user, or private
• Field groups, so your registration form, edit form and public profile can each show a different set
• Profile pictures with cropping, plus a custom profile background and colour
• Gravatar fallback until a member uploads their own avatar
• Lightbox display for member uploaded images
• Friendly profile URLs for every member
• Everything stored in standard WordPress user meta, so your other plugins can read it

Registration and membership

• Front-end registration, login and password reset, with no need to use wp-login.php
• Assign a user role per registration form, for example subscriber on one form and customer on another
• Admin approval or email verification before an account becomes active
• Invite people to register by email
• Password strength meter, with the policy also enforced server side
• reCAPTCHA and anti-spam fields
• Members can delete their own profile, if you allow it
• Email notifications to admins when a member updates their profile
• Restrict pages and posts to logged-in members, to verified accounts, or to chosen roles

Member directory

Social login

• One click signup and sign in with Facebook, Twitter and Google
• Facebook logins are verified with Facebook server side, so an account cannot be claimed by someone who merely knows the email address
• Existing members are matched to their social account; new ones get an account created
• Optional automatic post to the member’s Twitter timeline, with your own message
