Horse Stable Manager | Browser Horse Racing Game

Version 1.0 — Initial Release | Illustrated Horse Racing and Stable Management | Single-Player | Day and Night Racing, Show Jumping, and Invitational | Keyboard and HUD Controls | Local Game Assets

Horse Stable Manager is a browser horse-racing and stable-management game set at the Royal Cup stadium. Care for a horse, choose a horse from the stable collection, race three laps of the 400 m circuit by day or under the floodlights, clear a 12-fence show-jump course, earn coins and experience, and prepare for the Royal Cup Invitational. Progress, records, daily quests, horse care, and settings are saved in the browser.

Key Features

  • Royal Cup Stadium – Ride a closed 400 m stadium circuit with grandstands, bends, race fences, course markers, and a minimap showing the live positions of the player and rival riders.
  • Day and Night Racing – Race three laps against four rivals, with the night event set beneath the stadium floodlights.
  • Show Jumping – Complete two laps and 12 fences; each clean clear awards 100 points, and faults add time penalties.
  • Royal Cup Invitational – Earn a top-three result in a race to unlock the four-lap, 1,600 m Invitational with four rivals.
  • Four-Horse Collection – Choose Cedar, Atlas, Raven, or Dune, each with its own speed, stamina, and jump-height multiplier.
  • Stable Care – Feed and rest, groom, train, and upgrade the stable to care for energy, bond, condition, and player experience.
  • Daily Quests and Records – Complete ride, distance, jump, and care goals for coins; review race statistics, personal bests, and recent ride results.
  • Player Progression – Completed rides award coins and XP, with podium and clean-jump bonuses. Training and stable upgrades grant XP; clean Show Jump clears and claimed daily quests also award coins. Gain levels to improve race speed.
  • Player Preferences – Adjust graphics quality, race difficulty, motion, HUD visibility, music, effects, and volume.

Game Modes

  • Royal Race – Compete over three 400 m laps against four rivals. A top-three finish unlocks the Invitational.
  • Night Race – Ride the same three-lap Royal Cup course under floodlights, with four rivals.
  • Royal Cup Show Jump – Ride two laps through 12 fences and earn points for clean clears.
  • Royal Cup Invitational – Race four laps (1,600 m) against four rivals at Elite difficulty after qualifying with a race podium.

Horse Roster

  • Cedar – Thoroughbred, chestnut; 54 km/h base speed, 100 stamina, 1.00× jump multiplier; included starter horse.
  • Atlas – Andalusian, silver dapple gray; 55 km/h, 115 stamina, 1.12× jump multiplier; 1,000 coins.
  • Raven – Friesian, jet black; 53 km/h, 110 stamina, 1.20× jump multiplier; 1,800 coins.
  • Dune – Akhal-Teke, golden buckskin; 58 km/h, 90 stamina, 1.05× jump multiplier; 1,400 coins.

Horse Care and Progression

The Stable page tracks energy, bond, and condition. Feed and Rest costs 25 coins and restores energy and 10 condition; grooming is free and adds bond and condition; training costs 60 coins and 20 energy and awards 100 XP and 5 bond. Stable upgrades cost the current stable level multiplied by 350 coins, award 80 XP, improve feeding, and reduce post-ride energy loss. The maximum stable level is 5.

Completing a ride awards 100 XP, with bonuses for a race podium and clean fences. Player level thresholds equal 200 times the current level; each level gained grants 100 coins and improves horse base speed, capped at a 4 km/h level bonus. The four daily quests reward 425 coins in total: one completed ride, 1,500 m traveled, five jumps, and two stable-care actions.

Racing Rules & Mechanics

  • Each Royal Cup lap is 400 m. The day and night races cover three laps and start with the player plus four rivals.
  • The race course has three fences per lap, at 108 m, 238 m, and 368 m from the lap start. Show Jump covers two laps and places six fences per lap.
  • A player jump lasts 1.35 seconds and costs 9 stamina. The horse’s jump multiplier changes the maximum jump height.
  • In Show Jump, each clean fence clear scores 100 points. A missed or misaligned fence adds 4 faults and 4 seconds; an aligned jump that is too low also slows the horse.
  • A race podium adds 200 coins; a race win adds another 100. An Invitational podium adds 250 coins. Show Jump awards 15 coins per clean clear, plus 150 coins for a faultless run.
  • After a ride, energy loss depends on distance and stable level, with at least 15 energy remaining. Condition loss depends on distance and stops at 50; bond increases by 2.
  • Statistics track rides, wins, podiums, distance, jumps, clean clears, sprint time, top speed, and care actions. Personal bests and recent results are retained in the saved profile.

Controls & Navigation

  • Steer: A/D or Left/Right Arrow.
  • Encourage / accelerate: W or Up Arrow. Slow down: S or Down Arrow.
  • Sprint: Hold Shift to use stamina for a speed burst; release to recover stamina.
  • Jump: Space as the horse approaches a fence.
  • Course map: M opens or closes the full course map during a ride; opening it pauses the ride.
  • Pause: Escape pauses an active ride and opens the ride view.
  • Confirm / Start: Enter starts from the entry screen or confirms the focused menu action.
  • Back: B or Escape returns from a menu page. Pointer controls on the riding HUD support steering, sprinting, and jumping; map and pause buttons are also available.

Tech Stack & Architecture

  • Platform – Static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript ES modules served through HTTP or HTTPS.
  • Presentation – A custom WebGL stadium renderer draws the 3D-style course, horses, fences, and scene lighting; HTML and CSS render the riding HUD.
  • Game Systems – JavaScript modules manage saved state, horse roster, stable care, race simulation, opponents, course data, collision checks, settings, interface, and audio.
  • Loading – The game entry page imports local modules and loads the local image, font, and audio assets used by its screens.
  • Persistence – Local Storage retains the stable profile, preferences, daily progress, race records, and personal bests.
  • Package – The playable entry point is main_file/index.html, with supporting code, styles, and assets under main_file/script/.

Third-Party Dependencies & Licenses

  • Local Fonts – Anton, Barlow Condensed, Oswald, and Space Grotesk WOFF2 files are bundled with their SIL Open Font License notices under main_file/script/assets/fonts/.
  • Runtime Dependencies – The game uses browser-native interfaces such as JavaScript ES modules, Fetch, WebGL, Web Audio, Pointer Events, and Local Storage. No third-party JavaScript library or framework, remote API, external service, or CDN-hosted dependency is required. Font files are bundled locally; the guide’s font license records identify Google Fonts as the source for some documentation fonts, and neither the game nor guide makes a Google Fonts CDN request.
  • Font License Terms – The bundled game and guide fonts use the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Commercial bundling and redistribution with the software are allowed when required notices are retained. Font files cannot be sold by themselves, and modified fonts must follow the license’s Reserved Font Name rules. These terms apply to fonts only.
  • Recorded Audio – The game’s music and sound effects are supplied as local MP3 assets.
  • Artwork – Menu, horse, course, interface, and branding artwork is supplied in the local asset directories.
  • Documentation – The guide uses its own local CSS, screenshots, and bundled Bricolage Grotesque, DM Sans, and DM Mono fonts with license notices.

The game and its documentation load their supplied assets from the package directories.

System & Browser Requirements

  • Use a browser supporting JavaScript ES modules, Fetch, WebGL, WebP/PNG/SVG images, WOFF2 fonts, Pointer Events, Web Audio, and Local Storage.
  • Serve the complete main_file/ directory over HTTP or HTTPS. For a local preview from Main/, run python -m http.server 8000 --bind 127.0.0.1, then open http://127.0.0.1:8000/main_file/. Python is an optional preview server; the game itself is static web content.
  • Allow persistent browser storage to keep the profile and settings for the same browser site origin.
  • The supplied build does not declare a minimum browser version or supported device matrix. Browser compatibility depends on the APIs listed above; verify the intended browser, device, and viewport before publishing.
  • Local files for JavaScript, CSS, WebP, PNG, SVG, MP3, and WOFF2 assets must retain their relative paths and filenames.
