How to Play

Objective:
Move your frog across the lily-pad board by rolling the die and hopping the resulting number of steps. Plan your route carefully, stay on safe tiles when you can, and try to reach the goal position ahead of your opponent.

Starting the Game:
At the beginning of the match, each player chooses a frog character. Players then take turns rolling the die and moving.

Taking a Turn:
Tap the die to roll a number. Move your frog the resulting number of steps along the lily-pad path, following the board’s legal-move rules. Watch out for safe zones and other frogs on the board.

Blocking & Safe Zones:
Some tiles act as safe zones, while others may put your frog at risk from an opposing piece. Use the board layout to your advantage and try to slow your opponent down.

Winning:
The first frog to complete the board and reach the winning position is declared the winner of the match.

Game Modes:
The game features three different ways to play:

  • Computer Offline — Play against the Computer AI without an internet connection. The AI controls the opposing frog, rolls the die, and moves toward the goal on its own.
  • Player Offline — Two players take turns playing on the same device, no internet connection required.
  • Player Online — Compete against another player in a real-time online match. Create a session (Host Join) or join one (Guest Join) and play against another player from a different device.

Computer Offline:
Play against the Computer AI without requiring an internet connection. The AI acts as your opponent, rolling the die and moving its frog, so you can practice or enjoy a full match anytime.

Player Offline:
Two players share the same device and take turns rolling the die and moving their own frog. No internet connection is needed for this mode.

Online Mode:
Create a session with Host Join or join one with Guest Join, and compete against another player in real time. Turns, dice rolls, and frog positions are synchronized between both devices so both players experience the same match.

Note on Online Multiplayer:
Online Multiplayer is powered by Construct 3’s built-in Multiplayer plugin and, by default, uses Construct’s free public signalling server to connect Host and Guest — so it works out of the box, with no extra setup required to play as described above.

However, please note that online multiplayer features in general are services that depend on an external network layer, and going beyond this basic peer-to-peer setup — for example, more reliable connections on restrictive networks, player accounts, matchmaking, leaderboards, or supporting a large number of concurrent players — often requires setting up an additional external backend, such as Firebase or Photon. These services typically involve ongoing subscription or usage-based hosting costs that are not included with this item and are the responsibility of the buyer/end user if they choose to add or scale up such features.

Computer Offline and Player Offline modes work fully without an internet connection and do not require any backend service.

The project is built with Construct 3 and is designed to be exported as HTML5. The game can be played on PC, mobile devices, and tablets.
