PINT-AE — The UAE Invoice Standard

PINT-AE (Peppol International Invoice — UAE Localisation) is the official invoice format mandated by the UAE Federal Tax Authority. FatooraAE generates fully compliant UBL 2.1 XML documents with all required PINT-AE fields including your Supplier TRN, buyer details, line-item tax classification, and invoice totals.

What Is an ASP?

An Accredited Service Provider (ASP) is an FTA-approved company that transmits your invoices to the UAE FTA via the Peppol network. You must appoint an ASP to participate in the UAE EIS. FatooraAE is ASP-agnostic — it works with any ASP that accepts standard OAuth2 authentication and XML invoice submissions.

When Is UAE EIS Mandatory?

Businesses with AED 50M+ annual revenue must appoint an ASP by October 2026. Full mandate for all registered taxpayers follows in 2027. Starting early ensures you have time to test in Sandbox before going live.

PINT-AE XML Builder

PINT-AE XML Builder — Generates fully compliant UBL 2.1 XML invoices matching the Peppol International Invoice UAE (PINT-AE) specification. All required fields are populated from your WooCommerce order data: supplier TRN, buyer TRN (optional), line items with tax categories, allowances, charges, and totals in AED.

ASP-Agnostic OAuth2 Integration

OAuth2 Client Credentials — FatooraAE connects to your ASP using the standard OAuth2 client credentials flow. There is no vendor lock-in; any FTA-accredited service provider with an HTTP API is supported. Client credentials are stored encrypted using AES-256-CBC with your WordPress security keys.

Auto-Submit and Retry Queue

Auto-Submit triggers when an order status changes to “Completed”. If the ASP returns an error or is temporarily unreachable, the order is added to a WP-Cron retry queue with up to 3 automatic retries. Permanent failures are flagged in the admin dashboard.

Order Metabox and Submission Logs

Each WooCommerce order edit page displays an EIS Metabox showing the current submission status, ASP reference number, and a full log of all submission attempts. You can manually submit or resend from this metabox, or download the raw PINT-AE XML for auditing purposes.

How to Choose Your ASP

The UAE FTA maintains a list of Accredited Service Providers (ASPs) authorized to transmit invoices via the Peppol network. FatooraAE is ASP-agnostic, meaning it works with any provider that:

• Supports OAuth2 client credentials authentication
• Accepts UBL 2.1 XML (PINT-AE format) via HTTP POST
• Returns a JSON response with an ASP reference number

Configure your ASP’s token URL, API URL, Client ID, and Client Secret in WooCommerce > FatooraAE > Settings. You can maintain separate credentials for Sandbox and Production environments.

WooCommerce-Native Admin Experience

FatooraAE integrates seamlessly into your existing WooCommerce workflow. No separate portal, no extra logins — everything lives inside your WordPress dashboard under WooCommerce > FatooraAE.

Settings Panel

Configure your Supplier TRN, ASP credentials (token URL, API URL, Client ID, Client Secret), environment (Sandbox / Production), submission trigger, timeout, and debug logging — all on a single settings page. Your client secret is stored AES-256-CBC encrypted at rest.

Orders Column

An EIS Status column on the WooCommerce orders list shows submission status at a glance: Submitted, Pending, Failed, or Not Required. Click any order to view the full submission log in the order metabox.

Order Metabox

Every order edit page includes a dedicated FatooraAE metabox with the current EIS status, ASP reference number, submission timestamp, and action buttons: Submit, Resend, Download XML, and View Log. Resend is useful for orders that failed on first attempt.

Roadmap

FatooraAE v1.0 covers the full end-to-end submission flow. Planned for upcoming releases:

• v1.1 — Pre-built ASP connectors for Complyance and ClearTax UAE with status polling and FTA acceptance confirmation
• v1.2 — Credit note (CRN) generation for WooCommerce refunds, submitted as PINT-AE corrective invoices
• v1.3 — Multi-site support (WordPress Multisite / WooCommerce per-site TRN configuration)
• v1.4 — Arabic PDF invoice generation alongside the XML submission for customer-facing invoices
• v2.0 — Buyer-side (Corner 4) receipt integration once FTA opens the buyer access point API

Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or higher
• WooCommerce 6.0 or higher (tested up to 9.x)
• PHP 7.4 or higher (PHP 8.x recommended)
• An FTA-accredited ASP account with OAuth2 API access
• UAE Tax Registration Number (TRN) from the Federal Tax Authority
• WordPress security keys defined in wp-config.php (for AES-256 credential encryption)

License

Regular License — Use in a single end product (one WooCommerce store) for which end users are not charged for access. One purchase covers one site.

Extended License — Use in a single end product for which end users may be charged for access (e.g., a SaaS platform). Required if you are deploying FatooraAE as part of a paid service.
