Document Builder for Perfex CRM

Note: This is not a standalone application. This is a plugin for Perfex CRM. You have to install the Perfex – Powerful Open Source CRM to use this plugin.

Branded invoices, estimates, proposals, and contracts — the same layout on the PDF, the emailed PDF, and the public client page.

Native Perfex documents (Invoice, Contracts, Proposals and Estimates) all look the same.

Document Builder replaces that fixed PDF with a visual block editor: cover, header, parties, items, totals, terms, upsell, payment info, signatures, page breaks. Publish one template per type. Pay, Accept, and Sign stay in Perfex.

You now have full control on how you Invoice, Contracts, Proposals and Estimates should look and feel.

Invoices

Built for getting paid without looking like every other Perfex install.

• Header with logo, invoice number, and status
• From / To (optional shipping address)
• Items table and totals (subtotal, tax, discount, total; optional amount in words)
• Terms / notes with dynamic fields ({invoice_number}, {invoice_duedate}, {invoice_total}…)
• Offline payment info (bank / payment modes from Perfex)
• Upsell block (“Need the next phase?”)
• Company + customer signature slot, placed where you want it
• Cover and page breaks if you send a more formal invoice pack
• Used on PDF download, PDF attached to the invoice email, and the public Pay page

Estimates

Built for quotes that look like an offer, not a spreadsheet.

• Terms the client can read before they Accept
• Signature slot for “quoted by” / “accepted by”
• Cover page optional
• Same layout on the estimate PDF, the emailed PDF, and the public Accept page
• Dynamic fields: {estimate_number}, {estimate_expiry_date}, {estimate_total}…

Proposals

Built to win the deal, not just list line items.

• Full-bleed cover with {proposal_subject} and {proposal_total}
• Header and parties
• The real proposal WYSIWYG body ({proposal_items} is replaced automatically)
• Totals after the story, not instead of it
• Upsell for a follow-on retainer or phase 2
• Signature slot on the last page (add a second slot if you want a mid-document sign-off and a final one)
• Same layout on PDF download, emailed PDF, and the public Accept page

Contracts

Built so the thing they Sign looks like a contract, not an invoice in disguise.

• Cover with {contract_subject}
• Header and parties
• Contract WYSIWYG body in the template
• Terms / notes
• Signature slot in the document (company + customer, custom labels)
• Extra signature slots if you need a second pair of lines (e.g. after the body and again on the last page)
• Page breaks so annexes start on a new sheet
• Same layout on the contract PDF and the public Sign page — Perfex Sign still works

How templates apply

Only one template can be published per type. Drafts templates defaults to Perfex inbuilt layout.

A published template is used for:

• PDF download and print
• PDF attached when you email the document
• The public client page (Pay / Accept / Sign stay in Perfex chrome)

Unpublish and that type falls back to inbuilt Perfex immediately.

Builder

• Three columns: blocks, live A4 canvas, inspector / brand
• Drag to reorder. A new sheet starts only on a page break (or a cover set to own the next page)
• Brand: colors, logo, cover image
• Click a dynamic field to insert it into headings and body copy
• Preview against a real document, then Preview PDF
• Staff permissions: view, create, edit, delete

Typical use cases

• A proposal with a full-bleed cover, the live subject and total, your story in the body, an upsell, then signatures — same file they download and the page they Accept on
• An invoice that shows bank details, amount in words, and a signed “received” line, not a generic table dump
• An estimate a client can actually present to their boss
• A contract with a cover, the WYSIWYG body, terms, and company + customer signatures in the document instead of a stamp at the bottom of the last page
