Dice Game Rules

The objective is to assemble a dice combination of higher rank than your opponent’s. The match consists of three rounds and is played as a best-of-three (first to two round wins). The winner of the match takes the entire pot, which is funded during play by both opponents (half from the player’s stake and half from the opponent’s).

Structure of a Round

  • Phase 1 — Initial Roll: The player receives a set of five dice.
  • Phase 2 — Reroll: The player may reroll any number of dice (including none) to improve the hand, or keep the initial result.

Combination Rankings (highest to lowest)

  • Five of a Kind — all five dice show the same value. (e.g., five sixes)
  • Four of a Kind — four dice show the same value. (e.g., four sixes)
  • Full House — a three-of-a-kind plus a separate pair. (e.g., three sixes and two fives)
  • Large Straight — five distinct values in sequence 2–3–4–5–6.
  • Small Straight — five distinct values in sequence 1–2–3–4–5.
  • Three of a Kind — three dice show the same value. (e.g., three sixes)
  • Two Pair — two different pairs. (e.g., two sixes and two fives)
  • One Pair — two dice show the same value. (e.g., a pair of sixes)
  • Nothing (High Dice) — five non-matching dice that do not form a straight longer than four. (e.g., 1-3-4-5-6)

Tie-Breaking

  • If both players have the same combination category, the hand with the higher dice values wins (according to standard high-card comparison within the category).
  • If both the category and values are identical, the round is declared a draw.
