Checkers 3D (also known as Dama) is a classic 8×8 checkers board game built with HTML5 / Construct 3 and played on a real 3D board. Move your pieces, jump over your opponent’s pieces — captures are mandatory and multi-jumps are allowed — crown your kings and win by capturing everything or blocking the other side. Challenge a smart Computer AI on three difficulty levels, share one device with a friend, or play against another person online.
Features:
How to Play
Objective:
Capture all of your opponent’s pieces, or block them so they cannot move.
Starting the Game:
Choose a mode from the menu. White always moves first, and the status text always tells you whose turn it is.
Moving:
Tap one of your pieces, then tap a green dot to move there. A normal piece moves one square diagonally forward. The blue squares show the last move.
Capturing:
Jump diagonally over an enemy piece onto the empty square behind it. Capturing is mandatory — if you can capture, you must. If the same piece can jump again, keep going (multi-jump).
Kings:
A piece that reaches the far row is crowned King (shown as a stack of two). Kings move and capture in all four diagonal directions.
Winning:
You win when your opponent has no pieces left or cannot make a legal move.
Game Modes:
The game features three different ways to play:
Computer AI:
The computer searches the game tree with minimax and alpha-beta pruning and evaluates positions by material, kings, advancement, edge safety and centre control. Easy plays quickly with a lot of randomness, Medium looks several moves ahead, and Hard searches deeper and sees multi-jump combinations. The search limits are easy to adjust in the project for slower or faster devices.
Online Mode:
Choose Play Online and the game connects to a room and waits for another player. Once an opponent joins, the match starts automatically. Moves are synchronized between both devices and each player sees their own result. After a match both players can start a rematch.
Note on Online Multiplayer:
Online Multiplayer is powered by Construct 3’s built-in Multiplayer plugin and, by default, uses Construct’s free public signalling server to connect the two players — so it works out of the box, with no extra setup required to play as described above.
However, please note that online multiplayer features in general are services that depend on an external network layer, and going beyond this basic setup — for example, more reliable connections on restrictive networks, player accounts, private rooms, matchmaking, leaderboards, or supporting a large number of concurrent players — often requires setting up an additional external backend, such as Firebase or Photon. These services typically involve ongoing subscription or usage-based hosting costs that are not included with this item and are the responsibility of the buyer/end user if they choose to add or scale up such features.
Play vs Computer and 2 Players (Same Device) work fully without an internet connection and do not require any backend service.
Exporting and Mobile Stores:
The project is built with Construct 3 and is designed to be exported as HTML5. The documentation includes a step-by-step guide for exporting the game and wrapping the HTML5 output for mobile stores (Android and iOS) — setting the App ID, exporting a Cordova project, signing and uploading the build. Store requirements change over time, so please check the current store policies before submitting.
