  1. Bad Dog

Bad Dog is a fun “don’t wake the dog” board game built with HTML5 / Construct 3, played in full 3D. A grumpy bulldog sleeps behind a bowl full of colored bones. Draw a card, carefully pick up the bones it shows and drag them into the bowl — but stay quiet! Every movement makes noise, and the louder you are, the closer the dog is to waking up. Challenge the Computer AI offline, play locally with a friend, or compete against another player in an Online Multiplayer match.

How to Play

Objective:
Take the right bones from the pile without waking the sleeping dog. Every correct bone you drop into the bowl scores a point. Whoever wakes the dog, or drops a bone of the wrong color, loses the round.

Starting the Game:
Choose a game mode from the main menu and watch the short intro as the box opens and the dog appears. The first player is chosen at random, and the status text always tells you whose turn it is.

Taking a Turn:
Tap the card back to turn the card over. The card shows how many bones of each color (red, white, yellow or blue) you must take. Touch a bone, drag it to the bowl on the right, then lift your finger to drop it. Drag on an empty space to rotate the camera and look behind the pile.

Covered Bones & Noise:
A bone lying under another bone is covered — move the top bone out of the way first. Every move makes noise, and fast, jerky movements make much more noise than slow, gentle ones. The higher the noise, the louder the dog snores and the greater the chance it wakes up while you are holding a bone.

Winning:
When a player wakes the dog or drops a wrongly colored bone, the other player wins. If all the cards are completed, the player with the highest score wins the match.

Game Modes:
The game features three different ways to play:

  • VS Computer — Play against the Computer AI without an internet connection. The AI takes its own turn, picks up the bones and moves them with animated bone movements.
  • 2 Players — Two players take turns on the same device, no internet connection required.
  • Play Online — Compete against another player in a real-time online match. The game automatically finds an opponent and both players see the same match on their own device.

VS Computer:
Play against the Computer AI without requiring an internet connection. The AI acts as your opponent, so you can practice or enjoy a full match anytime.

2 Players:
Two players share the same device and take turns taking bones. No internet connection is needed for this mode.

Online Mode:
Choose Play Online and the game connects to a room and waits for another player. Once an opponent joins, the match starts automatically. The card, the dog, the bones and the score are synchronized between both devices, and each player sees their own “YOU WIN” or “YOU LOSE” result.

Note on Online Multiplayer:
Online Multiplayer is powered by Construct 3’s built-in Multiplayer plugin and, by default, uses Construct’s free public signalling server to connect the two players — so it works out of the box, with no extra setup required to play as described above.

However, please note that online multiplayer features in general are services that depend on an external network layer, and going beyond this basic setup — for example, more reliable connections on restrictive networks, player accounts, private rooms, matchmaking, leaderboards, or supporting a large number of concurrent players — often requires setting up an additional external backend, such as Firebase or Photon. These services typically involve ongoing subscription or usage-based hosting costs that are not included with this item and are the responsibility of the buyer/end user if they choose to add or scale up such features.

VS Computer and 2 Players modes work fully without an internet connection and do not require any backend service.

The project is built with Construct 3 and is designed to be exported as HTML5. The game can be played on PC, mobile devices, and tablets.
