Active Analytics – Privacy-First, Cookie-Free WordPress Analytics Dashboard

See what visitors actually do, without Google Analytics

Active Analytics is a lightweight, privacy-first analytics plugin built for WordPress site owners, developers and agencies who want clear, actionable statistics without the complexity, tracking bloat or privacy concerns of Google Analytics 4. Real-time activity, most visited pages, referrers and day-to-day or month-to-month users and pageviews appear directly inside the WordPress dashboard, and every piece of data is stored locally on your own server. There is no tracking code to paste, no external service to sign up for and no third-party cookie in sight.

Because tracking is first-party and cookieless, Active Analytics keeps measuring real user activity even when browsers or ad blockers restrict traditional analytics tools, while your visitors stay anonymous and your data stays yours.

Key features

• Real-time dashboard: live pageviews and referrers, plus an optional WordPress Dashboard widget.
• Users, pageviews and sessions: daily and monthly overviews with growth compared over time.
• Referrers and acquisition channels: see where visitors come from, including search, social networks and messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, Discord, Mastodon and Threads.
• Content analysis and engagement: find your top content today and this month, and see how pages perform.
• AI bot tracking: see which AI crawlers visit the site, alongside detection of around 400 known bots, crawlers and spiders.
• Events: record custom events alongside pageviews.
• Search statistics: see what visitors search for on your site.
• Internal links report: find out which pages link to each page.
• Monthly email reports: a summary of traffic and top search keywords delivered to your inbox.
• Data retention controls: configurable retention, automatic clean-up and on-demand table emptying.
• WooCommerce ready: track pageviews and user journeys across a store without third-party tracking.

Privacy by design

Active Analytics uses no cookies, makes no third-party requests, shares no data and relies on no external dashboard. Analytics data is collected as first-party data and kept in the local WordPress database. Made in the EU, the plugin is designed to comply with GDPR, CCPA and PECR out of the box, so no consent banner is required for standard analytics use cases.

Built for performance

Tracking runs asynchronously with non-blocking JavaScript, so it never slows page loads, and it is compatible with caching plugins, performance plugins and Cloudflare. Admin scripts and styles load only on the Active Analytics screens, and dashboard queries are optimised to keep even large sites responsive.

Why Active Analytics instead of GA4?

Google Analytics 4 is powerful, but for most WordPress sites it is unnecessarily complex: it requires training and custom reports, collects far more data than you need and relies on external tracking. Active Analytics focuses on clarity, showing which pages are visited, where visitors come from and how traffic changes over time, all at a glance and with no learning curve.

Requirements and compatibility

• WordPress 6.2 to 7.1 (tested up to WordPress 7.1.2).
• PHP 8.0 to 8.5.
• Also compatible with ClassicPress, WooCommerce, caching plugins and Cloudflare.

Support

Every purchase includes item support from butterflymedia under Envato’s standard support policy, along with future updates. When requesting help, please include your WordPress version and a short description of the issue.
